Who we are

On April 3rd, 2006, Bethesda released the infamous “HORSE ARMOR” for their game Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This cosmetic horse armor is widely known as the first micro-transaction in gaming history. Since the infamous HORSE ARMOR, micro-transactions and in-game purchases became an increasingly popular method of monetization. It is important to note that game development takes time and money. It is only natural for game development companies to want to make money so it can become a sustainable business for them. The goal of this website is to provide information about the monetization structures of video games and mobile games. It is important for us that you as a customer have as much information as possible about the product you are curious about.

We do not intend to pass judgment, only to provide information.

Beyond the information we are providing, your participation is crucial. We encourage you to leave reviews for games you have played or have experience with. Let us know what you think about the monetization structure of your favorite games. Start a conversation with others in the community. If you think we made an error, you can use the “Report” button to make your case. If we made a mistake, it will be fixed ASAP.

You might ask “OK, but who are you?”. We are life-long gamers who studied Arts Technology in college together. Vikvic has been active in the Diablo community through 2023 and scored multiple #1 finishes on the leaderboards in different games of the franchise in his class. He has been a sound designer for movies and he worked on animations. When Vik was a kid, he played games. While growing up, he played games. As an adult, he is playing games. In the future, he will probably be playing them games.

Wiz is a Creative Technologist and software developer. He has programmed business solutions for global companies but is also an artist that has developed video games, coded web apps, produced and recorded multiple albums, coded experiences within art galleries, and had a hacked MissingNo on his Game Boy Color. He has been gaming since the 90’s and considers it one of his many passions.

TLDR: We provide you information about monetization structures of video games.
